EQUIPMENT

SUP (Stand Up Paddleboarding) is a board and paddle combination that offers incredible freedom on the water. It is one of the simplest and most accessible water sports – your first attempts can be enjoyable from the very first minutes, especially with the right board and calm water conditions.

Most modern SUP boards are inflatable models – when deflated, they fit into a convenient transport backpack, ensuring mobility and easy storage. Hard boards are made with a durable outer shell and a lightweight core – offering even better performance and structural rigidity.

Types of SUP Boards

1. Allround (All-Around)

The most versatile type of board – ideal for beginners and families. The wide shape with a rounded nose provides high stability and paddling comfort. A great choice for recreational trips, family fun, or first training sessions.

In our offer you will find models from 8′ (for children up to 40 kg), agile 10′ (up to 70 kg), up to large and stable 12’ boards – including the popular Monster (up to 170 kg), perfect for paddling together.

2. Touring

Touring boards are designed for longer distances. They feature a slimmer, more pointed nose and increased length, allowing higher speeds while maintaining stability. A perfect choice for those who want to paddle farther and faster.

Our range includes:
Uone Wanderer 13’2″, Starboard Tikhine 12’6″, HF Excursion 12’6″ (affordable yet very stiff), Uone Super 12’6″ – fast, stable, and ideal for longer routes.

🔹 Additional Options

Besides classic models, we also offer multi-person boards – from two up to several paddlers. Uone Gigantic allows comfortable paddling for up to 6 people.
Our dragon board – with an impressive length of 22′ – enables fast paddling for 4 adults at the same time.

Some boards allow installation of an inflatable seat, letting you paddle in a kayak-style position (using the appropriate paddle). This is a great solution for those looking for extra comfort or an alternative to traditional stand-up paddling.

Most importantly, however, is the paddle – it is an essential element without which stand-up paddling is not possible (although you can paddle lying down – your hands can help too!).

🏄 SUP Paddles – Types and Specifications

A properly chosen SUP paddle affects comfort, speed, and fatigue while paddling. Here are the key details:

🔹 Paddle Types

  • 1-piece – usually the lightest and stiffest (sports, racing)
  • 2-piece (adjustable) – versatile, ideal for recreational use – most commonly used in our rental fleet – durable and slightly lighter than 3-piece paddles
  • 3-piece (breakdown) – convenient for transport

🔹 Material

  • Carbon – very light and stiff, best for long distances and racing
  • Carbon shaft with nylon blade – slightly heavier than full carbon but more impact-resistant (blade). Weight distribution is less optimal compared to 100% carbon.
  • Fiberglass – lightweight and flexible compromise
  • Aluminium – durable and affordable, but generally heavier

🔹 Paddle Length

Basic rule:
Height + 15–20 cm (recreational paddling)
Height + 10–15 cm (sport / faster paddling) – for sprinting even shorter (sometimes close to paddler’s height)

🔹 Blade Size

  • S 70–85 sq in – smaller paddlers, high cadence
  • M / L 85–95 sq in – most versatile
  • XL 95+ sq in – more power, for strong paddlers, short distances, sprints

🔹 What Should You Choose?

For recreational paddling, the best option is an adjustable 2- or 3-piece paddle with an 85–95 sq in blade (size M or L).
For longer distances, choose lighter paddles – fiberglass or carbon.
